In brief: Several things

Humidifier, chicken soup and other warm fluids, over the counter cough suppressant (such as dextramethorphan, a common ingredient in cold and flu medications), elevate your head of bed, ibuprofen.
These all may help. If it does not go away within a week, or you start to cough up yucky mucus, see your doctor.

In brief: Pharyngitis

When patients exhibit these symptoms it is most commonly due to viral pharyngitis.
However, these symptoms could represent a bacterial infection requiring antibiotics. Patients with these symptoms need to be evaluated by a physician with likely throat culture to determine if there is a bacterial infection.
