What is the definition or description of: Arterial tortuosity?

Wandering artery. In the normal anatomy of the arterial system, arteries take the most direct or straight path to their destination. Tortuosity or ectasia occurs as we age but sometimes is seen in younger people as a variation from normal. It rarely causes any problems but mat result in seeing an unusual pulsation due to the bend in the artery pressing against the skin and be confused as being an aneurysm.
