I have anal warts after unprotected anal sex with a monogamous parter. Both of us tested negative for STDs and HIV prior to becoming monogamous. ?

In brief: It could happen

Negative STD testing often means that the curable ones are not present.
Genital warts are caused by a strain of HPV that they can hibernate in the human system and reeactivate (never cured). If they didn't do a specific serum test for HPV exposure they would never find it.This strain is only suspected when the warts are found, and the primary infection can be treated or clear on its own.

In brief: Warts not always

Warts are not always obvious, and can be at other locations, and possibly spread.
This is what you can discuss with your physician. It is possible your partner has warts that are not visible
