My autistic son received a spinal fusion in 2008(he was 18) since he has been consumed by seizures. Is it possible this is caused by the spinal fusion?

In brief: I do not believe so

Did he had any complications after the surgery ? If the answer is no, I do not think so.
Good luck.

Just make sure he hasn't continued any medications that may lower seizure threshold: Ultram, narcotic pain meds, etc. If in question, consult your pharmacist.

In brief: Seizures occur in

20-40% of people with autism, with the highest incidence in those who also have intellectual disability (full-scale iq < 70).
1/4 develop seizures or seizure activity on eeg during puberty with ?ed behavior problems (aggression, self-injury, &/or severe tantrums) & diminished academic gains. Anesthesia or the stress of surgery may have lowered his seizure threshold so that seizures became overt.
