Hi Sean, Dark Brown urine can be caused by blood, but also by other things.
A urinalysis (dip stick and microscopic exam) can tell if there is blood and check for some other substances. If that doesn't give a clear answer, there are other forms of testing available. Hope this helps, Dr. Long
