Constipated for 2 wks. I took MiraLax & Colace for 3 days, but neither helped. I've been drinking prune juice & eating high fiber foods. I've gone a little, but I'm still constipated. My K level is 3.2. What can I do at this point? (Best options?)

Enema/water. At this point I suggest that you try a Fleet's enema which you can buy at the pharmacy. Continue the miralax (polyethylene glycol) nightly. The colace is not likely to help much but adding a fiber supplement, walking daily for at least 30 minutes and drinking at least 3 liters of water daily could also help. If this does not work then you may need to see a doctor for a medical intervention. Read more...

Is Colace (docusate sodium) (Docusate 100 mg) safe in 31 week pregnancy? My prenatal multivitamin has Docusate as well. Is there any safer medication for constipation?

That is safe. Constipation can be an issue during pregnancy. So the docusate is important to reduce the amount of strain or vasalva pressure you put on your entire system when you're constipated and trying to have a BM.
