I have uneven skin tone on my face and around my neck area, pigmentation, dark spots, acne and pimples. Will Cosmelan treatment help here?

Many issues. You MUST stop your masturbation and see if this is helpful. If not, please see your primary doctor. PS: I am a bit jealous - I left Sydney in 1974 for a two year program in the USA. Could not get a passport to get back to Sydney. A trip to Sydney last year was fine and fun.

Pale red dots on cheek. 18 years old. Always wore sunscreen. Never had acne. Hyper pigmentation? Underlying freckles? Uneven skin tone? Narrow down?

Sorry... But is sounds like you have narrowed down your options about as much as anyone can without actually seeing the lesions that you are referring to. Instead of narrowing it down, I could add other possibilities but that would be fruitless. If you are interested in an actual answer you will need to see a physician (primary care or dermatologist). Is bio oil a good skin treaatment for acne scarring and uneven skin tone while on accutane? Given you don't break out from the oil.

Myth but use if help. Many of my patients swear by the benefits of tea tree or bio-oil and so i generally don't dissuade them but there is very little science to support its use. It is probably the massage, (which we know helps scars) that is used to apply the oil, which is actually providing the improvements observed. Massage with any clean oil 3-4 times a day. Silicon gel trips are more likely to improve the scar. Read more...

Won't touch scars. Retin-a is great stuff especially when there are blackheads but it won't touch scars and won't alter postinflammatory pigmentation. I'm very glad you've gotten a good result. Adding a topical antibiotic such as Clindamycin may help also. Read more...

I have dark spots from acne. They appear the more I pop pimples. They make my skin tone look uneven. How do I get rid of the dark spots?

Let them fade. This is post-inflammatory pigmentation and the heavily-vascularized healing lesions visible beneath the skin. Your key is to prevent new lesions. Apply topical benzoyl peroxide twice a day or as tolerable, and if you are not clear in two weeks, get with your personal physician for prescription-strength medicine. Nobody of any age should have to ask the question that you did. Best wishes. Read more...

I have uneven skin tone, mild acne, oily skin with open pores. I have a wheatish complexion. I want white complexion, flawless skin, what should I do?

Reconsider your wish. Please forgive my frankness. You're asking for something that we cannot give, and you should not want. I'm sorry you got acne scars and I'm glad you're being treated with the right medicine. A plastic surgeon can help with the scars. But please don't try to change the color that Nature gave you. And you'll see "flawless skin" only in retouched ads. Those who love you love what's "not perfect." Read more...
