What would cause pain on both sides of back and sides at the bottom of the ribcage area?

In brief: A few Considerations

Back pain can be caused by Muscle pulls or sprains which occur as a result of excessive bending or lifting by someone who may not be engaged on vigorous lifting or exercise before.
An infection in the kidney can also cause pains in the flank but it would likely affect one side. If the pain does not go away in 2 weeks or gets worse, medical exam and CT scan of the abdomen may help to find the cause
