In brief: Nothing is for Sure!

With repeated exposure, the other person is much more likely to get herpes 2 virus but there are many factors involved.
If it is a single encounter, they may not, but with repeated contact it is more likely than not that they will eventually get it - esepcially during unprotected sexual activity but even with protection, it can be passed.

In brief: Herpes 2

Nope. If you do not know where you are infected then it may be wise to start a daily medication to lower your viral shedding and make you less contagious.
The medication is valacyclovir.
