I had a tooth extraction and a filling but I am severe pain in my gums and jaws what could be the problem?

More info needed... Extraction and filling same arch, same side? Was the filling deep? Did you have an infection? Simple or complex extraction? Answers to these questions would go a long way in answering yours. Please see your treating dentist for a follow-up visit.
