Since giving birth 12 weeks ago I have had back pain. At the moment it feels like mid back pain, rib ache and neck ache, feeling a little winded.

12 week Mom. This sounds like a new Mom with a 12 week old. Bending, lifting and lack of sleep can add up to fatigue and a tired back, Get some help from Dad and take a break. Try and NSAID or, if you are nursing, a little alcohol-for both of you to rest.

54f, chronic mod to severe spondylosis and stenosis from neck down. Having upper & mid back pain shooting into chest; can be hard to breathe.

This could very well be referred pain from the nerve compression due to cervical stenosis however chest and mud back pain could be due to other serious cardiac causes such as an aneurysm or an impending heart attack/ angina.
