Is transjugular biopsy performed by a hepatologist or interventional radiologist, or both?

In brief: Mostly neither

It isnt the generally used procedure.
Not only is it a big deal, it is ONLY used in complicated patients because the general biopsy technique of just ramming a needle through the skin into the liver is a lot simpler. Surgical specialist with medical clearance in a hospital setting is the usual for this all but abandoned procedure.
