Vaginal swab- heavy growth of Candida krusei. Second candida infection since 2015. Been on oral fluconazole for 4 days. What other tests should I do?

In brief: Fluconazole no good

Candida krusei usually is resistant to fluconazole.
It's just bad luck, probably with no implications for your general health. You just need a different drug, and also should avoid other "azole" drugs. Unfortunately, C. krusei also can be resistant to some of the common alternate drugs. Ask your doctor about trying nystatin or caspofungin. Your strain can be tested to know which drugs are active.

Boric acid vaginal capsules also might be effective. But if a change in treatment doesn't help, the next step probably should be consultation with an ObG who subspecializes in infectious diseases to guide testing of the organism and advise on further treatment.
