Son has been crying for hrs saying his ear hurts. It started when he blew his nose. It's waking him from his sleep.

EAR PAIN. The pressure created by blowing his nose pushed against the inside of the eardrum; producing pain. The pain should resolve relatively quickly however if pain persists beyond 24hrs, blood or other drainage comes from the ear, or ear ringing and/or dizziness are noted, his pediatrician should take a look. You give Motrin or Tylenol (acetaminophen). Do not place drops or objects into ear.
