In brief: Colchicine/ steroid

Acute gout can be treated with Colchicine or steroids.
Allopurinol helps to lower uric acid levels and to prevent recurrence. Dietary modifications to reduce uric acid like avoiding red meat. Please check with your doctor.

In brief: Eat better

See your doctor, have a uric acid level checked.
Then if acute gout Colchicine or nsaids can be used to treat the inflammation. For chronic gout and to prevent flare ups i patients with high uric acid, Allopurinol or uloric can be used.

Agree with Dr. Azimi. Gout is "curable" with diet or medications to lower uric acid in 90+ percent of people.
