What this means? Myocardial perfusion imaging with Tc-99m Sestamibi after exercise revealed no scintigraphic evidence of hemodynamically significant ischemia. Medium-sized, mid to basal inferior wall mild-to-moderate mostly fixed perfusion deficit, excep

In brief: Stress test

A stress test with myocardial perfusion imaging is a way of detecting whether the heart muscle is getting insufficient blood supply because of coronary artery disease.
It can be normal even with lots of coronary plaque, because it only detects severe narrowings. If there is a "fixed" perfusion defect that generally suggests a scar in the heart muscle from prior heart attack. Need more info.

In brief: Mild abnormal result

It means the nuclear stress test showed a small area with abnormal blood flow during exercise and also abnormal during rest.
Could indicate a blockage of the coronary artery or could be a "false positive" result. Depends on why the test was done and other details regarding the patient such as symptoms? Exercise tolerance? Risk factors for heart disease? Happy to consult in more detail if needed

In brief: Interpretation

The study wording says that no ischemia is suggested.
A fixed defect which isn't explained in the reading can mean old damage but can just as well be due to a structural or non heart related reason for the appearance. Best to ask your doctor to clarify or ask the reader what the reader meant. In a 27 year old a perfusion defect would be unusual
