Why should someone with ulcerative colitis avoid caffeine? I drink about 50mg each day that comes from iced green tea.

UC and caffeine. hello ~ the main symptom of ulcerative colitis is bloody diarrea and abdominal pain. Caffeine causes hypermotility of the bowel/colon and therefore worsens the symptoms of UC. So it is best avoided if you have UC thanks.
