I have Afib. I read that 1 out of 3 people with Afib will have a stroke. Is that true even if I'm treated with Warfarin and rhythm medications?

Atrial fib & stroke. There are a few guidelines that can be used to estimate the risk of stroke in a patient with atrial fibrillation. One of the best is the "CHA2DS2-VASc" score. If the risk of stroke is high, anticoagulation with warfarin or one of the newer oral anticoagulant meds is usually advised. Antiarrhythmic drugs may reduce episodes of atrial fibrillation, but won't eliminate the risk of stroke.
