Will I be able to get pregnant right after the implant birth control (implanon, nexplanon) is removed? I want to be able to have a baby right away!
Patience. Patience is a wonderful virtue that all parents and all prospective parents should develop, prior to getting pregnant. That means a person who says, "I want to be able to have a baby right away!" (with an exclamation mark), is not likely ready to have a baby. Patience is so important. That being said, one might ovulate weeks after removing the implant, but in real life, it is not very predictable.
How likely is it to get pregnant while you have the birth control implant? Also what effects do anti depressants have on nexplanon?
No effect of SSRIs. The birth control implant (Implanon/Nexplanon) is extremely safe because it only releases the progestin, Etonogestrel. There is no estrogen and so the risk of clots is MUCH lower than any combined method. Failure rate is 0.05% in a year, which is almost better than getting your tubes tied. It is effective within a week of insertion and won't be affected by ANY antibiotics (except rifampin)/SSRIs. Read more...
