Been drinking 1-2 glasses of red win per day because of suggestive health benefits. But can this habit put me at risk of developing diabetes?

Protects against DM! There is evidence that moderate wine consumption can lower risk of diabetes. I think it is more wise to average 1 glass a day than 2 but 2 a few times/wk is OK. It may also be wise to not drink a couple days a week.
