I'm in surgical menopause and hysterectomized, not sexually active since 2008. Today red vaginal discharge. Why? Diabetes? Bacterials? Polyps? Thanks

In brief: See a doctor.

Vaginal bleeding after hysterectomy is of concern especially if you are sexually inactive, lt needs to be checked out for proper diagnosis and treatment.
Please go see your family doctor or an Ob / Gyn.

In brief: Get it checked

You need to go see a GYN MD to make sure that this isn't caused by a vaginal growth or cancerous tumor. Vaginal cancers occur rarely just 4% of all female cancers, but presents as bleeding.
The bleeding can also be coming from the vaginal cuff from a piece of cervix left behind at the initial surgery or granulations tissue.
