In brief: Migraine Triggers

In approximately 10% of migraineurs, food can trigger an attack.
These triggers include vasoactive substances such as cheese, alcohol (red wine), chocolate, foods containing monosodium glutamate (MSG), nitrates, or tyramine, and aspartame, a sugar substitute used in Equal.

In brief: Many different foods

I agree with Dr. Mead that any food may trigger migraines, but some trigger much more commonly than others.
Common triggers include wheat, dairy, eggs, chocolate, bananas, red wine, strong cheeses and citrus. Eliminate common triggers mentioned below for a week or more then add back one at a time to find your triggers See http://www.pcrm.org/health/health-topics/a-natural-approach-to-migraines

In brief: Anything

This is a very individualized but real thing.
Many people have migraines because of food. If you think this may be a problem for you, start keeping a headache diary to figure out the most likely cause. Best of luck!!

In brief: Be Paleo

The best way to improve migraine is by stopping inflammation causing grains, lentils, potatoes based items.
Avoid milk protein since it causes inflammation Healthy foods: sea food, meats, vegetables, avocados, some saturated fat (butter, coconut oil), olive oil are very effective. A probiotic and vitD3 10k IU/day help reduce the inflammation as well. You should feel a difference in 1 month

In brief: A multitude

Lists of such items can easily be GOOGLED.
Not uncommon offenders include red wine, aged cheeses, nitrite preservatives, MSG, aspartame, pickled foods, etc. About 10-15% of migraineurs uncover trigger foods.
