Can zoloft (sertraline) or luvox increase prolactin levels?

Prolactin levels. in the serum are mediated by a whole host of factors. Inhibition of the Dopamine D2 receptor due to pharmacologic use of typical and atypical antipsychotics causes the majority of cases, although SSRI, MAOI and tricyclic antidepressants can also play a causative role. Hypothalamic nuclei and the anterior pituitary (and its infundibular portal system are the major location for cyclical release.
