MIGRAINE AND VOMITIN. Compazine (prochlorperazine) can help to treat nausea and vomiting which are associated with migraine. The recommended adult dose is 5-10 mg orally every 6-8 hrs as needed not round clock. It is not advised to take it very frequently as any medication has adverse effects, Compazine (prochlorperazine) may leads to side effects as it decreases the Dopamine in the body.
Pain Treatment. Compazine (prochlorperazine) generally is not first line medication treatment for migraines. Much better is to develop a headache prevention regimen (with and without prescriptive medications) to prevent the migraines from occuring. Prn medication can then be used on a selective basis. A plan needs to be developed by an appropriately trained provider who should review with you the maximum doses of medications.
