In brief: "Female Viagra"

It is a promising drug.
However, every drug comes with some risks. Therefore, ask your doctor about the risks of using this medication to treat your condition.

In brief: To incr desire

This medication is not as much for a dysfunction as to increase sexual desire.
This medication is to be taken every day; drinking alcohol might lead to fainting, you can have some other negative effects, but it definitely should be tried if lack of sexual desire causing problems. If this medication does not work or is not solving the problem completely, it may require additional interventions – not only medications, but also psychotherapy

In brief: Addyi

Recently approved by FDA for women who are having less libido.
Unlike medicines for men like Viagra (sildenafil) which should be taken as needed, one hour before intercourse, Addyi needs to be taken daily.

In brief: Not much in 400

characters.. Addyil's marketed for use by women with "hypoactive sexual desire disorder." It's in the same family of drugs as Effexor (venlafaxine) (an antidepressant).
FDA approval was based on a clinical trial showing a small increase in "satisfying sexual encounters" with Addyi vs placebo. It's NOT a "female Viagra". It must be taken daily & continued indefinitely, is costly & has worrisome side effects.
