What treatment is available for finger contraction in severe rheumatoid arthritis. Is urgent treatment needed for fingers contracted over 12 hrs?

In brief: Nerve or joint

You may have subluxation of the finger joint or a dislocated joint.
The finger problem can also be due to abnormal pull of a tendon that has slipped. Hopefully that there is no nerve paralysis causing your finger deformity. Yes you should see your rheumatologist as soon as possible who may refer you to an occupational therapist.

In brief: Maybe maybe not

If the contracture is acute then it could be a trigger finger and these are very treatable with a pretty simple surg see some one soon other contractures in RA usually occur more gradually.
