Yes. 1st did you finish antibiotics as directed by your diagnosing physician? 2nd were you prescribed appropriate antibiotic for your infection, as guided by sputum culture. 3rd did chest xray confirm no fluid (effusion) or consolidation? 20yo, mild off/on chest discomfort for couple of days. Shortness of breath w/light exercise. Has been very inactive for past week or so.

Chest pain breathing. Pulmonary embolism would be the main serious concern and can be evaluated with chest imaging studies ordered by a physician. There are less serious potential causes but need to have PE excluded first. . Read more...
