My wife is diagnosed with kidney stones so after medication milk from breasts is not coming. I have a 4 month old baby. Please suggest fr breast milk?

Pump or nursing? Check with the prescribing MD to see if medication can be the cause. At four months many women's breasts reduce in size but still produce adequate milk. PUMPS use vacuum pressure to get milk out and in some it can become less and less effective. The baby nursing works the nipples differently and they can usually work the milk down. Good urine output indicates baby is getting the milk. No? See MD.

4 month old baby given gerber purees. Has hard stools and hot body. No temparature. Breast milk not sufficient and baby refuses formula no matter what?

Feeding. Some baby foods are more constipating-apples, bananas, sweet potatoes. Other foods like peaches, pears, prunes are more loosening. Extra water in your babies diet is also helpful to soften stools. Dilute juices are also good but usually not before 6 months of age. Read more...

My 4 month old baby has not passed poo for 4 days now he is on breast milk and formular, is that normal?

NORMAL. Breast fed babies can have bowel movement from 6-8 times/day to once every 4-7 days. Both normal. If ur child is not uncomfortable, don't worry. Formula may be changed to 'whey protein' based, e.g. Good start. Whey protein increases stool bulk, so s/he will poo more often. Again, if the baby is not uncomfortable, not to worry, no change needed. Talk to baby's doc reg starting solid food. Read more...

I have 2 day old infant (2nd child) and I have extremely sore cracked nipples. I pumped milk and right breast milk had blood clots. Help please.?

Don't worry! some bleeding from the nipples is normal and if the baby gets a little of your blood in the milk it is ok. If there is a lot, you could dump it if it makes you feel better. Use a gentle barrier ointment like lanolin on your nipples after nursing. Make sure to vary nursing positions and alternate starting breast. See a lactation consult if things don't improve in a few days. . Read more...
