In brief: Pain Treatment.

Simple remedies include medical massages and later in the pregnancy a maternity lumbar support brace.
Otherwise, any prescriptive medication treatment would need to be cleared by your obstetrician.

In brief: Injections are safe

Back pain is common during pregnancy but treatable.
Lidoderm patches, medicated ointments are some topical choices along with ice/heat. During first trimester, local anesthetic only injections can be done in the joints and ligaments of the back, and are safe. During 2nd and 3rd trimesters, low dose steroids (anti-inflammatory) can be added to the injections to help control pain.
