I hate to go to a doctor unless there is a reason but I am unsure if I should be concerned. For the past month I have had moments when my outer ear (only on the left side) has a warming sensation. It does not actually feel warmer than normal to the touch

In brief: Warm ear

if it were shingles should have appeared by now.
may be Lyme, rarely subclinical herpes i ( from cold sore- herpes I IgG titer would be high > 4 ), a form of trigeminal neuralgia, rarely MS or even vascular (TIA) would follow up with doc/ urgent care check TSH, d-dimer, lyme, herpe/zosters IgG .
