I had a root canal on #10. Tooth is still painful to touch and it wiggles. Gums red and swollen. What are typical courses of action for such a tooth?

Not uncommon. It is normal to have some minor pain or discomfort after root canal treatment. However, if you have severe pain or pressure that lasts more than one week, contact your dentist or endodontist.
Painful tooth. The tooth needs to be re-evaluated. Red and swollen gums indicate an infection or inflammation. Please call your dentist.
If pain persists . . Depending on the initial condition of the tooth, endodontic lesions take time to resolve. If the pain persists, visit your dentist and if necessary, an endodontist to evaluate the situation.
Go Back. Gox back to the Dentist who did the treatment for follow-up. If needed see the specialist - the Endodontist. May simply take time to resolve if it was recent and badly infected. Bite may require adjustment, and cleaning around tooth at gum line. Get it rechecked and get well soon. Good Luck.
