I have a pain in my lower back. I got it when I tried to lift a heavy water bottle. Any advice for relieving the pain? Thanks.

In brief: Back pain.

Rest / stretching / avoidance of heavy lifting and judicious use of medications including acetaminophen 650 mg up to 5 times / day or a non steroidal agent such as naproxen 500 mg twice a day.
Can use these together if necessary. Other meds can help but would require prescription. Generally pain like this gets better within a few weeks.
