A uterine fibroid grows from the muscle tissue of the uterus.
They are abnormal tumors, of course, but they are not cancer. If they are imbedded in the uterus, they can't move, but they can grow huge and push things around. Occasionally, a fibroid is on a stalk outside the uterus, or has attached to something else near the uterus... one might think these latter fibroids can "move" or have "moved".
