Chicken pox is contagious until all the lesions have scabbed over. Oatmeal baths can give some temporary relief as well as an occasional antihistamine for some people.
Applying ice or cold compresses may also reduce the itch. Let fevers do their job and do not use fever reducing medications unless needed.
