I have polyps and since one month sinusitis. Levofloxacin and Augmentin didn't help, now I'm taking Clarithtromycin but I'm still frightened of sinusitis complications. I have sometimes pain and pressure but no fever. How common are complications?

In brief: Didn'tNeedAntibiotic

Not enough information to give specific advice, but generally most sinusitis is viral in origin with some patients getting a secondary bacterial sinusitis.
Sinusitis will usually resolve on it's own within 3 weeks. Indications for antibiotics are severe pain in one sinus, high fever, profuse purulent nasal discharge lasting more than 10-14 days. Polyps usually treated with nasal steroids. *comment

*If you didn't have the above indications for antibiotics, the likely reason they didn't help is because it was a viral sinusitis. Of course without knowing the specifics of your case I can't make a firm diagnosis

In brief: Sinusitis

After 3 rounds of antibiotics and a history of polyps, you should have a CT and follow up with ENT for other investigations.
There are complications but they are rare. All the best.

In brief: Sinusitis

If persistent sinusitis other factors may be affecting : allergies, food intolerances and reflux.
Elevate head of bed ( pillow under mattress), zyrtec , prevecid 1/day, food diary (does nasal congestion worsens w/diff foods) . Repeat antibiotics can get resistence, change GI bacteria, get diarrhea or C difficile , rarely colitis, take 1 probiotic/day to help. So far you're OK F/U w/ENT

Complications are not that common we don't have exact number, but each time you take antibiotics you have that risk so it increases with multiple courses ,especially the diarrhea take probiotic.s
