In brief: Measure her growth

Many babies spit a small amount of formula.
If she is letting it run down her chin she is telling you she is full. Continue to feed as usual and have your doctor measure the growth at her 4 month check up. You don' t need to worry unless it is causing coughing, fussiness or poor growth.

In brief: Is she growing?

Most people way overestimate how much volume is in a spit up.
If it covers a whole piece of paper(unlikely), then it's only an ounce. A standard baby bib sized spit up is about half an ounce. Is your child gaining weight well? If yes, then the amount they spit out is not consequential. Spitting is normal. All babies do it. It's why we all buy bibs and burp cloths. Reflux is way over diagnosed...

In brief: Count wet diapers

If baby is wetting diapers every 4-6 hours she is keeping hydrated and probably holding enough down to grow.
Weekly weight checks (if wetting) can verify her progress. Many babies are big spitters for a while and sometimes the amount can bee too much. In that case normal weight gain is not observed.

In brief: Measures of growth

Careful follow of growth curve--height, weight, head and abdominal circumference can show that your child is getting and absorbing adequate intake.
Growth, developmental progress, and immunizations against diseases are the reasons your pediatric provider suggests you bring an infant in for regular visits during the first year of life and beyond.
