My doctor just prescribed Paxil, (paroxetine) 20mg,for my GAD and Metoprolol Tartrate, 50mg. I am very worried there might be a dangerous interaction with these?

In brief: Drug interaction

The combination of these drugs can cause hypotension, slow heart rate, and heart block.
The metoprolol dose may need to be lowered. You should be monitored closely.

You should let yourr treating doctor make the decision I am sure he is aware of the drug interaction but if you are having more side effect than anticipated you should bring to his attention. Different doctors have different approach so you magnet different opinion and will only confuse you.
