In brief: Antibiotics
If you have an infection, you need antibiotics.
If your gums have carries... Then you need to take better care of your teeth and gums. Brush your teeth at least twice daily and you need to start to floss your teeth.. Daily.

In addition to meticulous oral hygiene, see your dentist regularly until gum infection is resolved and at least every 6 months.

You can develop an abscess of your tooth which can spread to your neck and cause a life-threatening infection. Get on antibiotics ASAP.

In brief: See your dentist
An infected gum can lead to a larger, more serious infection.
You should see your dentist for treatment and to check the involved tooth.
