In brief: Better = ?

Glycemic index (GI) is how fast a food raises your blood sugar, i.
e. the glucose level in your blood. Sucrose has a lower GI than glucose, AND sucrose tastes sweeter than glucose. Also, higher GI is generally considered less healthy. So, I’d have to agree that sucrose is a “better” sweetener than glucose. Note: sucrose is still pretty bad, from a GI standpoint, just not as bad as glucose.
