I've had a cold for about 2 days (cough, sore throat, runny nose). 2 days ago, noticed small, below the skin, non-itchy red dots on neck and chest.

In brief: COUGHING RED DOTS

EXCESSIVE COUGHING CAN CAUSE THESE RED DOTS ON THE NECK.
THE RED DOTS ARE CALLED PETECHIAE. DO SEE YOUR PCP OR AN INTERNIST. DO NOT WAIT!

It might mean that you have a clotting abnormality, especially low platelets, so your doc may need to order blood tests to look for this. There are other things that could do this so an exam is also warranted.
