Can you get proctitis from C. diff, and what PCR testing should be done on Toxin A or B or both?

In brief: Yes

Proctitis is an inflammation of the lining of the rectum.
In regards to the toxins, both are generally secreted (but B is essential for virulence). Enzyme immunoassay, polymerase chain reaction and cell cytotoxicity assays are used. If you don't have diarrhea, you don't have Cdiff..and in fact the lab won't even process the sample. Leave it up to your PCP or GI what test is appropriate.
