Is it ok to take finofibrate tab 200mg and atorvastatin 10 mg tablets togather for high cholesterol for my mom? She is 47 yrs old.....thanks

In brief: Yes, but

Need to follow liver function tests closely with this combo.
But, a lot of recent data that suggest that fenofibrate, which is used primarily to Rx elevated triglycerides, may not be as necessary in treatment as we once thought. This depends on level of triglyceride elevation, concurrent diabetes. These issues definitely need to be discussed with her doc. Good luck.
