Hand dermatitis is usually contact dermatitis which can be due to allergy mainly to metals, detergents etc, a type 4 allergic reaction, different ftom atopic dermatitis which doesn't affect the hands, rather the skin of the arms and the forearms , and it is type 1 allergic reaction, mainly to environmental allergens such as dust mites and foods especially cow's milk in infants, hope this helps ,
