In brief: Hernia?

Abdominal mass that hurts to touch or to strain sounds like a ventral hernia.
A medical exam can usually determine that. Sometimes ultrasound is needed. Usually not dangerous but if extreme pain develops then it might require emergency surgery. If truly constipated, Go-Lytely (prescription for colon clean out) will fix it every time. Weaker laxatives may not help. X-ray can confirm too much stool.
