Does lexapro (escitalopram) make you feel happy? Does it make you feel more interested in the things you used to be interested in and does it help you to become more focused?

In brief: It could or it could

not. Each person's response to anti-depressants is slightly different, so you'll have to work closely with your prescribing MD.
Report any changes in your experiences--good or bad--and see your MD every two weeks at first, or until you feel the effects of the med(s) are stable and to your liking.

In brief: Lexapro (escitalopram)

Any medication, when it's working properly, takes the edge off emotional symptoms, and that's all.
Reworded, meds don't make a person happy, they make the person somewhat less symptomatic. The real work toward happiness and satisfaction with life takes place in psychotherapy.

In brief: Not depressed

Lexapro (escitalopram) doesn't make you feel happy.
When it works, it makes you feel not depressed. Typically people who are depressed are not happy, have lost interest, and have focus difficulties. It treats these things as a part of treating depression
