Symptoms of hypothyroidism, high normal TSH, TPO is 49. I have Reynaud's and positive ANA but am struggling convincing my doc to diagnose Hashimoto's.
Doc is correct. Even if you do have Hashimotos your TSH is normal and therefore you have normal thyroid function.
Why no doc doesnt want to give me treatment for hashimoto if my TSH is normal? And will hashimoto 100% develop into hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism?
Hashimoto. Thyroiditis is usually self limited if the TSH is normal it just is monitored. It could develop into hypothyroid and you should be checked routinely.
How often should I check on my subclinical hashimoto hypothyroidism via blood tests? I have no obvious symptoms & am taking levo. My TSH is normal.
Periodic labs. This is worth an office visit at least yearly for a routine tsh, more often if your physician wishes or you feel your thyroid status is changing.
Can stress alone cause hashimoto hypothyroidism? Would periods of high stress cause higher TSH levels even while on levothyroxine?
No. Should see endocrinologist to run s thyroid test.
