In brief: Endometrioma

elevation in the levels of d-dimers has been reported in association with endometriomas.
The putative mechanism it either formation of clots in the pelvis or activation of the clotting system via a tissue plasminogen activator. A gynecologist in consultation with a hematologist can investigate these issues further

In brief: Endometrioma symptom

Endometrioma develop when endometrial tissue (found normally lining the endometrium inside the uterus) implant OUTSIDE the uterus, usually somewhere in the pelvis, even on the ovary.
This tissue is estrogen-dependent, and can grow in response to circulating estrogen. Symptoms can include pelvic pain, painful menses, pain with intercourse, and/or infertility. See your Ob/Gyn for more information
