Itchy rash on palm. An itch rash on the palmar surface of your hand could be several things. Dyshidrotic exzema, contact dermatitis or an allergic reaction to something are possible causes. A fungal infection is a possibility as well. If it is really itchy it could also be scabies, an infection caused by a mite. Few ideas. Depending on the reason why the medications were prescribed there could be various reasons why they are not working. (Ex: applying the medications correctly and as directed? Scytera . Scytera is an otc coal tar foam that smells like licorice and can be used in psoriasis. I like creams better than lotions for moisturization, and i like ointments better than creams for fissured/cracked skin. Ointments are typically just a grease without any water, whereas creams and lotions have water in them. Right now, i'm liking cerave cream & cetaphil's new restoreaderm line of skin care products.
