In brief: Need an exam

It's possible you have an infection in the ear canal or behind the ear drum. However your symptoms are somewhat atypical for these causes.
It's possible the source of your pain is somewhere else in the in the pharynx and is being "referred" to the ear area. You need to see your physician as soon as possible. If the cause isn't apparent you need to see an ENT specialist. Get well soon

In brief: Throbbing pain

Migraine headache could be felt deep in your ear. If Ibuprofen and tylenol (acetaminophen) not helping, see your PCP for specific meds for migraine such as Fiorinal, Imetrex etc.
