Is buckling of the knee a symptom of rheumatoid arthritis? I never had RA and now my doctors is considering it to rule it out? Any suggestions?

Knee instability. If buckling of the knee is the only symptom your having with or even without pain, it's not a common symptom of rheumatoid arthritis. Buckling is usually a result of some kind of internal derangement in the knee like a meniscus tear or acl tear. I think if this is the only joint you're having problems with, the diagnosis of RA is highly unlikely, especially if it's just buckling or giving way. Read more...
